I've often said how lucky I was to grow up without social media. Don't get me wrong, I understand and appreciate how useful and powerful it can be, but it's a double edged sword.

Perception can be created in a number of ways, not just social media, but social media raises the stakes significantly. And we're all human, so we all make mistakes. Now it's magnified.

Even without social media, your article resonates. During my career, I learned some lessons early on about how to carry myself in a more professional way so that I don't leave an impression I'm not proud of, especially with people who didn't know me.
