Welcome to Training Week

Most people treat a gap between ambition and reality as proof that the ambition was unrealistic. So they quietly shrink the goal instead of examining why the gap opened up in the first place.

In elite sport, the gap between where a team is and where they want to be is treated as information, not failure. It gets measured, studied, and closed deliberately, session by session. Nobody assumes the target was wrong just because today’s numbers do not match it yet.

What elite performers do differently is not wanting it more. It is that they have built a way of tracking the gap and closing it in small, deliberate steps, rather than hoping the distance disappears on its own.

This week gives you that same approach, applied to whatever ambition you have been carrying without quite closing in on.

Here is what I am going to walk you through:

Step 1: Get specific about where you said you would be

Step 2: Rehearse the outcome before you chase it

Step 3: Find the smallest gap you can close this week

Step 4: Track the close, not just the goal
